Activities to ensure transfer to secondary school: visit to FCJ Secondary School & Bunclody Vocational College by Sixth Class, use of Transition Year students on work experience from secondary schools, attendance at secondary school concerts, promotion of Open Days in secondary schools and dates for enrolling and sitting entrance tests, preparation of pupils to sit entrance tests, liaising with secondary schools to ensure enrolments take place, discussions with the HSCL from Bunclody Vocational College regarding subject choice at second level etc
To ensure 100% of Sixth Class pupils transfer to secondary school

Activities to ensure that all pupils remained in school and progressed accordingly (other than those who left the country) - tracking all pupils who left the school to ensure they enrolled in other schools, transfer of information to the new school when enrolling elsewhere, liaising with families who travel during the school year (HSCL) and with the Education Welfare Board
To ensure that 100% of pupils would return to school in September (other than those who left the country)

Monitor participation rates in extra-curricular activities: Chess Club, French Club, Scratch Computer Club, Draughts Club, Gaeilge Club, Senior Infants Club, Debating Club, Sports Clubs - Hurling, Football, Camogie, Soccer
To ensure that the target pupils will actively and regularly participate in at least one after school activity

Homework Club (through the School Completion Programme)

To ensure active participation in class by all targeted pupils

Promotion of the ethos of a good work ethic and of expectation and confidence in pupils that they should work hard in school and expect to achieve success and complete Third Level Education.

Promote events & activities which have links with the Third Level Education Sector - Pangea Maths Competition, Bebras Computational & Thinking Challenge, visits to Carlow IT etc
Promote the expectation that our pupils should attain third level education
