Challenge Number 1: Barcodes

Challenge Number 2: Barcodes

Puzzle (2) between Challenges:

Four bags contain a large number of 1s, 3s, 5s and 7s. Pick any ten numbers from the bags above so that their total is 37. (A special word of thanks to Ryan's Dad who has made a Calculator in Excel to help you think about this problem. Have fun with it.)

Challenge Number 3: ISBN

Puzzle (3) between Challenges: (This is difficult and you may need help from a sixth class pupil)

How can I get the answer 24 using all the numbers 8, 8, 3, 3. You can use the signs add, subtract, multiply and divide. (Hint: it will involve fractions!)

Challenge Number 4: Binary Codes

Puzzle (4) between Challenges:

When asked about his birthday, a man said: "The day before yesterday I was only 25 and next year I will turn 28."
This is true only one day in a year - on what date was he born?

Challenge Number 5: Frequency Analysis

Puzzle (5) between Challenges:
There are two trees in a garden ("Apple Tree" and "Pear Tree") and on the both trees are some birds.

The birds of the Apple tree say to the birds of the Pear Tree that if one of you comes to our tree, then our population will be the double of yours.

Then the birds of the Pear Tree tell to the birds of the Apple Tree that if one of you comes here, then our population will be equal to that of yours.

How many birds in each tree?
