Not all Travellers go from place to place all the time. We do like to travel when we can. There are certain times of the year when we travel around Ireland or go to England. We usually go away in the early summer and travel home at the end of September. Last summer I went away on holidays to Dublin. I liked it. All my cousins were there. I was in my Granny’s back yard. It was good. I had loads of friends there. We made a big swing in the big field. We went down to Smithfield on the bus me and my cousin Eddie and we got chips and burgers for ourselves. We waited for an hour. Eddie didn’t want to stay long. He wanted to go home. Then we went home me and Eddie went with his Daddy to work. Eddie fell out of the lorry on the motorway. He was leaning on the door and the door opened and he fell out. He went to the hospital. He was in the hospital for two days. When Eddie came back he ran over to my trailer. He got food with me. When we got food we went back to the swing. Then Eddie made the swing higher. He went up very high to tie the rope. He got back down and got on the swing and I pushed him. He gave me a go. He pushed me. Eddie thought he was pushing me high. The it turned dark and we went in. He came back in to my trailer when he woke up. He wanted me to come out to the swing. I was too tired Eddie said come on. He said, "would you hurry up. I’m going to get my brother Tom. Be dressed again I’m back out". Eddie came back and I was dressed. "At last", Eddie said. "I’m going", said Tom. "Tell him hurry up, Eddie. He won’t get out of the trailer", said Tommy. Tom made another swing and we played on it.

I stayed there on my holidays for a long time. Every Thursday Stuart and Margaret came on a bus to take us to the swimming pool. Sometimes he’d bring us to the park and we used to play on the slides, swings and the monkey bars. Other times we went to the fun factory. Sometimes he brought us bowling or he brought us to the beach. I had a great time on my holidays travelling. I would like to do it all again. (Mylie Berry 4th Class)
