Syd teaches Claude some Irish!
(Click on the Irish phrase to hear the phrase spoken by our Fourth cLass pupils - Syd was shy of the microphone!)
In Ireland we learn a language called Irish. In some parts of Ireland they speak Irish daily but in most parts we speak English. Today in school Syd learned Irish phrases like:
thank you; "Go raibh maith agat" pronounced gu -rev -mah -a -guth.
Please: "Más e do thoil é", pronounced mawsh - ay -duth - thull - ay.
How are you: "Conas tá tú?" Cunus - thaw - thu,
Goodbye: "Slán" Slawn
Hello: "Dia duit" = deea ghit.
Syd enjoyed learning Irish.
